Chocolate Chip Cookie Sticks

December is here and today is National Cake Day and with a sleigh led by deer the deer will land on your roof in just a few short weeks!

So it's natural to start thinking about what kind of cake you will serve with a large glass of ole milk! And I think this chocolate chip cookie stick should be at the top of your list!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Sticks are a pleasant touch to classic chocolate chip cookies and a perfect dessert to dip! Thick, slightly crispy, but still chewy cakes filled with chocolate chips and made in a 9 x 13 inch pan for easy baking!
So have you ever heard of cake sticks? That is a relatively new concept for me, but I am truly in love! I mean, come on, who doesn't like cakes that are designed to be dipped!?!?

And that is a pleasant and unique touch to the classic chocolate chip cake.

And because I have never shared a classic chocolate chip cake recipe on a blog, I thought this might be a good stick cake recipe to get started.

material

• 1/2 cup unsalted, soft butter
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup of pink sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
• 3/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chip divided

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 9 x 13-inch pan line with aluminum foil and spray the bottom and sides with cooking spray and set aside.

In a large bowl with a hand mixer or stand mixer equipped with a paddle, whisk the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt, then add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients in two separate additions, mix until mixed after each addition.

Mix 1 cup of mini chocolate chips.

Transfer the cake mixture to the prepared baking pan and use your hands to press and spread the mixture evenly to cover the entire baking pan.

Sprinkle 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips on top of the mixture and press gently into the mixture using the palm of your hand.

Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and gently remove the cake from the pan using aluminum foil, transfer to a flat and level surface.

Use a pizza cutter to cut 18 pieces along the 13 inch side and then run the cutter once in the middle of the 9 inch side to make 36 cake sticks.
