21 Quick Fixes For Baking Mistakes You're Probably Making
I'm all about being easy in my home, especially when it comes to my life in the kitchen. Just as I like cooking and baking, that doesn't mean that I want or enjoy spending hours in the kitchen working hard on a plate than I have to do. I have other things I want to do, like reading or practicing Spanish or running to the gym even. That's where Life Hacks is my friend.
And this? This is one of the more genius movements.
Baking Life Hack: Cut dough easily without clutter
When I make a cupcake or pastry cake muffin or whatever with the dough I want to divide into flat size pieces - which means meatballs when I like - I use my cake spoon. Every household must have it. Personally, I have it in three sizes. I have a small one for truffles, medium size for cakes and meatballs and the like, and the big ones for muffins and cupcakes. Especially when grilling, it's important to have your item the same size so it doesn't burn, and this makes it a lot easier.
When I'm scooping batter, my scoop becomes a mess. The batter sticks to it, it doesn't come out evenly, and I'm not as exact my measurements as I may want. Or ... that was used to be the case. Now I have the perfect Life Hack that makes this not just easy but no mess, too. All you need is non cooking cooking spray, tin muffin, and your scoop.
Over your sink (to catch the mess of the overspray) lightly mist your scoop with the nonstick spray. I was startled by my cat doing this one, so you can have more in here than I need, but it's ok. Shhh, I just let it drip out a bit.
