CRAZY GOOD FROSTING
This is the decoration you see the ingredients and think "what?" I have never heard it until my friend Kristine brought it so I could use it on the cake I made for her. I tried it and almost fainted. I am a person who is frosting - frosting MUST be good or I don't want cake, actually the cake is just a vehicle to bring me frosting and I like good creamy butter. This delicacy is not as sweet as a typical butter cream and has a creamy consistency almost whipped. I will not use this to smooth or decorate the cake seriously but it is perfect for freezing cakes that you cannot wait to eat. (Or use cake !! I think this is the best sugar cake I've tried in a long time!)
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 1/4 cup of multipurpose flour
- 3 TBL corn flour
- 1 1/2 cups of milk
- 1 TBL vanilla
- 3 sticks (1 1/2 cups) of butter softens to room temperature.
In medium-sized pans, combine sugar, flour and cornmeal. Turn heat to medium and slowly add milk shaker until smooth. Cook the mixture (which will be thin and runny at first) and shake until it starts to thicken and it's harder to shake, about 5-10 minutes.
